ZB / Control Path

From site
to financial
position.

Six stages connect what happened on site to what management sees.

01—06 / Six Stages

The six steps

01

Project Setup

Management records the project, contract value, budget, payment terms, important dates and valuation method.

02

Site Reporting

The site records physical progress, current activity, problems and supporting evidence.

Physical progress is not turned directly into money.

03

Commercial / Measurement

The commercial team records what work has been valued, claimed, certified, retained and varied.

Commercial value comes from the project's valuation method.

04

Finance / Payment

Finance records what has become due and what cash has actually been received.

05

Cost / Forecast

The project records cost to date and expected remaining cost. Zeus Black shows where the project is forecast to finish financially.

06

Executive / Management

Management sees one combined view of the project's financial position.

Site → Commercial → Cost → Claim → Certification → Cash → Management

Important

Do not confuse these numbers.

  • Physical progress ≠ Commercial value
  • Valued ≠ Claimed
  • Claimed ≠ Certified
  • Certified ≠ Cash received
